Description: | Pass points signify the most basic of decision points in a testing procedure. Pass points on employment tests are most frequently used to differentiate among those individuals who demonstrate possession of required job-related qualifications and those who do not. Topics of discussion in this course will include the legal requirements of pass point setting, the intended and inadvertent uses of pass points, and the background rationale of pass point use.
PRESENTER: Shelley Langan
Shelley Langan, SPHR has more than 30 years of experience within a broad range of full service HR arenas, including recruitment, testing and assessment, job analysis, workforce planning, staffing and retention, employee relations, classification and compensation, and human resource program evaluation. She is currently the Human Resources Manager for Placer County Water Agency, where she manages the Agency's HR function. Prior to joining PCWA, Ms. Langan held leadership positions with the California Correctional Health Care Services, CPS HR Consulting, the California State Personnel Board, and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. She is a frequent trainer and speaker on numerous human resource and assessment topics and is active in professional organizations. She is a past-President and board member of the Personnel Testing Council of Northern California, past officer and board member of the International Personnel Assessment Council (IPAC), and is currently President-Elect for the Western Region Intergovernmental Personnel Assessment Council (WRIPAC). Shelley is the 2014 recipient of the Stephen E. Bemis Memorial Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement in Personnel Management.
